The short version: Price Proof keeps everything on your phone. There are no accounts, no servers, no ads, and no analytics. Your shopping lists, price photos, locations, and saved trips never leave your device unless you choose to share or export them.

Who we are

Price Proof (“the app”, “we”) is a shopping price-verification app. You can reach us at admin@priceproof.online.

What the app accesses, and why

  • Camera — to photograph price tags and receipts. Photos are saved only in the app’s storage on your device.
  • Location (optional) — if you grant it, the app tags a photo with where it was taken, so a price record shows which store it came from. If you deny location, the app works normally; photos simply have no location attached. There is no settings screen for this — it follows the permission you grant the operating system.
  • Storage — to save your photos, lists, and trips locally so they persist between sessions.

What we collect and store

All data the app creates — shopping lists, list groups, captured prices, tag and receipt photos, timestamps, and any location tags — is stored locally on your device only. We do not operate a server, we do not have user accounts, and we do not transmit, sell, rent, or share your data with anyone. We have no ability to see your data.

Sharing and exporting

The app lets you share an individual photo or export a whole trip (a ZIP of photos plus a text summary) through your phone’s standard share sheet. When you do this, you choose the destination (email, file manager, cloud app, etc.). That action, and where the data goes, is entirely under your control and governed by whatever app you send it to.

Submitting a problem tag (optional)

If a price tag will not scan correctly, you may choose to email the photo to tags@priceproof.online to help us improve the app’s tag reading. This is entirely voluntary. Any image you send is used only to diagnose and improve price recognition, and is not linked to your identity unless your own email reveals it.

Analytics, ads, and tracking

None. The app contains no advertising SDKs, no analytics SDKs, and no third-party trackers. It makes no network calls of its own. (The on-device text recognition runs locally and offline.)

Children

Price Proof is a general shopping utility and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect any information from children, and indeed we do not collect personal information from anyone, since nothing leaves the device.

Your control over your data

Because everything lives on your device, you are in full control: delete individual items, trips, or list groups inside the app, or uninstall the app to remove all of its data. We hold nothing to delete on our end.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect in a new app version.
